General Contest Information

Midwest Pet and Handler Contest (MPHC) is currently open to the general public to compete for Midwest Pet or Midwest Handler.

  1. While the contest titles are “Midwest Pet” and “Midwest Handler,” we acknowledge not every person’s role is neatly defined as either “pet” or “handler,” and use this as shorthand for “human who takes an animal role” and “human who takes an animal handler role.”
  2. All contestants must be at least 21 years of age or older by the contest date, so as to be able to fully represent the title in all spaces where age may be prohibitive.
  3. Registration Fee of $20.00 to be paid after acceptance of application. Payment options will be communicated directly to contestants via email. Fee must be paid before the first day of the contest.
  4. Midwest Pet and Handler Contest does not require gear or equipment of any form in order to compete in any part of the contest with exception of gear/equipment that may be deemed as safety equipment by its officers, directors, agents, employees, and volunteer staff.
  5. The Midwest Pet and Handler Contest welcomes Pets or handlers from all walks of life and does not discriminate in any manner contrary to law or justice on the basis of real or perceived race, color, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, religion, disability, veteran’s status or national origin.
  6. During all aspects of the contest, contestants and their assigns have to wear street legal attire as it is a public event.
